Mapping Exceptions

  1. The Sex Offender address allows for a two-line address if it is needed. This mapping feature, however, uses only the value provided in the first line of the address and disregards the second line. If the value in the first line of the address in not a "standard" address, the mapping feature will locate the address based on the city, state and zip code contained in the rest of the address. (View examples of how some special-case addresses are handled).
  2. Addresses that contain only zip codes, or only city, or only state will map to the geographical center of the zip code city or state. Precedence is given first to zip, then to city and then to state.
  3. P.O. box addresses will not map correctly. If zip code is included, address will map to center of zip code.
  4. Rural Routes will map if they are part of the standard US Postal address. You can go to the US Postal site to check addresses.
  5. Offender Details that contain no address (i.e., homeless) will not return a map.
