This program began operation in 1988. The Jefferson County Pretrial Services Program is an Alternative to Incarceration program (ATI). The goal for the Jefferson County Pretrial Release program will monitor and supervise pretrial individuals where authorized and requested by the court. Those inmates released under supervision are obligated to comply with a standard set of conditions as well as any special conditions needed to address any specific risks or needs, they may have. For example, this may include GPS tracking, face-to-face reporting and coordination with victim services to address any risk concerns as well as service enrollment or continuation requirements to address any substance abuse or mental health needs.
