| Comments: | The table is ranked in order of seriousness. For a first admission in a continuous period of incarceration this would be the same as the ENTRY REASON (LOCAL CORRECTIONAL SYSTEM). The term "Local Correctional System" does not include City, Town and Village lock-ups or police precincts. *Admissions to county correctional facilities reflect as close as possible one individual to one admission. However, there are instances where one individual would be recorded as a county admission more than once during a continuous period of in- carceration. The admission event is defined by the recording agency and is outlined in the manual Annual Report Guidelines for County Correctional Facilities. The Guidelines Manual was developed in a joint effort between the New York State Sheriffs' Association and the New York State Commission of Correction effective January 1, 1989. **The phrase "Sentenced, Initial Entry" refers to an initial entry, sentenced prior to admission.
