Current Summary of Changes to the Coded Law File

Law File Changes – September 2012

Note: Laws added to the file since the last posting on February 02, 2012 begin with relative address/law ordinal 8160. Be aware, however, that changes/corrections have been made to existing laws. A summary is shown below, but may not be complete. We recommend that you overwrite the existing law file with the new one. 

Most notable is the addition of the RDLR_ indicator added to the NYS Coded Law file.  This indicator was added to capture the charges that are eligible for sealing under Rockefeller Drug Law Reform pursuant to CPL 160.58.

With this new posting, a new file format is available to replace the legacy mainframe flat file, the content however is based on our Oracle table as the mainframe law table no longer exists due to the decommissioning of our mainframe.

Legislation:

A 9552-A   AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to prohibiting persons from owning, possessing, selling, transferring or manufacturing animal fighting paraphernalia.

Repealed Ordinals 4323, 4325, 4346, 6740 and replaced with new ordinals 8169-8189

Added new ordinals 8190 thru 8194 per NY Penal Law Article 190 Other Frauds-Misconduct by Corporate Official

Added new ordinals 8195 thru 8200 per NY Penal Law Article 176 Insurance Fraud

Added new ordinals 8201 and 8202 per A 9552-A

Modified Ordinal 5482 – modified the law descriptions

Modified Ordinal 2068 – removed special characters

Modified Ordinals 6085, 6151, 6153 and 7650 – changed the violent felony indicator to ‘N’ per Article 70.02 1(c).

Modified Ordinal 7405 – changed the violent felony indicator to ‘V’ per Article 70.02 1(b).

Modified Ordinals 7912-7913 – a correction was made to the law descriptions

Modified Ordinal 5789 – a correction was made to the mini law description
